Why Your LinkedIn Outreach Is Being Ignored
Your message isn’t being ignored because recruiters are rude.
It’s being ignored because it looks like every other message.
Most outreach sounds like:
“Hi, I’d love to connect and learn more about opportunities at your company.”
That doesn’t give the reader a reason to respond.
Good outreach answers one question:
Why should I engage with you specifically?
What works better:
Mentioning a specific role, team, or product
Acknowledging timing (“I know you’re busy…” actually helps)
Keeping it under 3 short lines
Example:
“Hi Amy—saw you recruit for product roles at Deckers. I’m a footwear developer focused on materials innovation and would love to connect if you’re open. Totally understand if now’s not the right time.”
No pressure. No pitch deck. Human.
Outreach isn’t about volume. It’s about relevance.
